About me
I grew up in Washington, DC. the middle child of five, in a great old townhouse in the city, the same house my father and grandfather grew up in.
I always loved photographs. My grandfather was a wonderful photographer and my aunt too. We had this beautiful room on the first floor that we called the sunroom. My mom had photographs covering both walls, literally from floor to ceiling on the left and right, when you walked into the room, filled with photographs of our family. Memories captured on the walls for everyone to enjoy.
I LOVED that room!
In my twenties I left DC and moved to Los Angeles to chase my dream of becoming a movie star. I spent years studying acting and waiting tables, chasing my dream. I had some successes. I got a few parts, like "Mrs. Freshy Freshington" in a Johnsonville sausage commercial, a mom in a Honda Pilot commercial, and the sidekick to an animated Slim-A-Bear in three Klondike commercials. I worked on a few indie films too. Acting led me to production and I production managed and produced commercials and music videos for the next decade or so. Production was a lot of work and so much fun! I had the opportunity to work with some truly amazing and talented people, including the fantastic, John Scoular, who would become my husband...
It all led me to John.
After flirting over the fax machine and falling madly in love in Marina del Rey, John and I married, made a film, had a two awesome children... moved to SW Florida, had two more awesome children, made an Emmy award winning documentary film, bought a house and settled down in our beloved Naples, Florida to grow our roots.
Somewhere in there, I picked up my camera again and started shooting. It was like reconnecting with an old friend. I love my camera! I spent a lot of years in front of the camera, but shooting just feels right to me. Amazing how our journey may be long but somehow or other we always find our way back home.
Nothing better than capturing beauty and sharing memories. Visual storytelling.
